Mountain Log Cabins

Mountain Lodges in North Portugal

Looking for a way to offer comfortable year-round accommodations with all the perks of our ‘back to nature’ glamping tents, we considered lots of different designs and materials. We eventually opted for a custom design based on robust wooden logs. The final concept features sturdy, hand-built log cabins with a focus on comfort, offering a low eco-footprint, stunning outdoor views and a warm, rustic, homey interior.

Our cabins have been designed to offer you the best of every season’s highlights, ensuring indoor as well as outdoor quality time.  No unnecessary luxury here, ‘just’ everything you need to experience the essentials of life.

Our cabins (and all our facilities) offer tried-and-tested quality, giving you a great place to enjoy the great outdoors, relax and reconnect. Read a book on your front porch or curled up on the sofa, have fun spotting wildlife (or donkeys!) from your bedroom, watch your kids playing outside, or cuddle beside a romantic fire before going to bed.

up the mountain and down the valley

In the Serra da Cabreira mountains at an altitude of 865 m, you’re not just overlooking the Tamega wine valley. From here, you can even see as far as the Alvao, Marao and Peneda de Geres mountain ranges. That’s a lot of scenery for your outdoor activities!

a room with a view

We just didn’t want to let go of the view, even inside the cabin. So we kept adding windows. On all sides, in various shapes and sizes. Bringing the outdoors in.

romantic hideout or family fun

We designed our cabins to be flexible to suit your preferences. It’s a perfect getaway for two, yet just as suited for a family summer holiday.

a good night’s rest guaranteed

One of the challenge was wanting to have an open floor plan, create a romantic hideout for two, yet being able to host a family of 5 whilst maintaining the privacy of a bedroom.

We’ve deliberately located the ‘master bedroom’ on the front end of the cabin.
Can you imagine the view from your bed when waking up?

private bathroom ~ showering with natural spring water

a practically styled and spacious private bathroom with shower.

the best of timos craftsmanship

Almost all furniture & equipment are ‘one of’ designed & hand crafted pieces. Combining natural materials such as steel and wood gave us the desired look, feel and sturdiness we desired.

OFF SEASON

Off season has some pretty awesome advantages:  less guests so even more space, privacy and peace but also cheaper rates for lodging, plane tickets and car rental.  On the other hand, there will also be less services available  – e.g. we still service breakfast, but it’s impossible to organize an elaborated barbecue just for 2. And we can still offer guided walking, but being a private instead of a group activity, different rates apply – Most travelers are aware, but we thought we’d just give you a heads up.
