Casa da Eira is a charming and spacious holiday apartment located in our historic 1673 farmhouse courtyard in Northern Portugal. It’s the perfect place for couples, families, and small groups looking for peace, nature, and an authentic rural experience.

The ground floor offers a naturally cool living space thanks to thick granite walls. You’ll find a handcrafted wooden kitchen, a cosy sitting area with a large corner sofa, and a sturdy dining table ideal for long meals or game nights. The private bathroom with shower, toilet and sink is also located downstairs.

A wooden staircase leads to the open mezzanine bedroom, featuring warm wooden details, a skylight, and comfortable beds for 1 to 5 guests. Outside, you have your own sunny or shaded sitting area, plus access to the central courtyard where the farmhouse life once unfolded.

Please note: Casa da Eira Velha is fully booked for 2025. We will gladly welcome you again from 2026 onwards.

Rustic holiday apartment with kitchenette

A simple yet lovingly built wooden kitchen with 5-burner gas stove, extractor, microwave, fridge and the essentials for preparing your own meals.
There’s also a small outdoor barbecue (season-dependent).
Upon arrival, you’ll receive a list of our favourite local bistros and restaurants.

Living & Dining Area

The spacious corner sofa and solid wooden dining table form the heart of the apartment — perfect for long dinners, relaxed reading or playing board games.

Rural holiday apartment with Private Bathroom

Compact but practical, with shower, toilet, and sink — all fed by our natural spring water.
If travelling with a group, you may also use the additional showers in the shared sanitary block.

Cosy Mezzanine Bedroom

The open loft on the second floor is warm, bright and furnished for 1–5 guests (double bed, bunk bed, pull-out bed).
Current photos may show several single beds due to temporary group rental.

Air Conditioning & Natural Cooling

Two AC units — upstairs and downstairs — provide gentle cooling in summer or heating in winter (please use consciously).
Still, the best summer refreshment remains outside: in the river, under a waterfall, or in our natural plunge pond.
And in winter? Nothing beats sitting under the stars near a crackling fire.

Your holiday in nature: domain with a View

Casa da Eira has a private entrance, its own outdoor sitting area, and access to the shared courtyard where guests from the Loft and Old Kitchen House gather.
Throughout the property, you’ll find hammocks, picnic tables, terraces and farm tables — each offering a different panoramic view of the mountains.

Please Note: located next to The Bar(N)

The apartment sits next to our cosy reception bar, which can be rented as a group space during the low season — ideal for family reunions, retreats or hiking weeks.
During high season, the bar is occasionally used for shared dinners or small events.
The thick granite walls insulate well, but we cannot guarantee complete silence.
For total privacy and quiet, we recommend our stand-alone Mountain Log Cabins or our Mobile Home.
